Author Elvis Peeters writes his oeuvre together with Nicole Van Bael. Their novel De ontelbaren made the shortlist of the Libris Literature Prize in 2006. Their much-discussed novel Wij (2009) about young people, morality and the free market was filmed (Belgian premiere September 23, 2018). Their novel Dinsdag (2012) made the shortlist of both AKO and Libris Literature Prize. The novel Jacht (2015) in which animals can think was translated into Spanish. In January 2018, their novel Brood was published about a young refugee who is growing up without knowing a youth. The novel De ommelanden (2019) about climate and the gap between city and countryside, individual and ideology, was immediately welcomed.
They also write for theater and children. Their series of stories about Meneer Papier will be converted into an animation series later this year. The pilot episode won the audience prize at the Kid Screen Festival in Amsterdam (2019).
Their work is translated into, among others, German, Turkish, Japanese, Danish, Croatian, Slovenian, Hungarian, English and Spanish.
