GENERATION HOPE

Yameogo Sountonguenoma Désiré (bf)

Désiré is an educational worker at the Burkinese human rights organization ‘Mouvement Burkinabè des Droits de l’Homme et des Peuples (MBDHP).’ He is also a militant in the youth movement ‘Organization Demécraticique de la Jeunesse du Burkina Faso (ODJ)’, a partner organization of Broederlijk Delen. As a young activist and student in the city of Koudougou, he is also a member of “L’Association des scolaires Koudougou” and “l’Association Nationale des Etudiants Burkinabè”. Here he fights for better living conditions, more democratic liberty and against impunity and corruption. At Ecopolis, Désiré explains how he participated in the revolt against President Blaise Compaoré in October 2014, and in the grass-roots resistance to the coup in September 2015.
