Hugo Van Dienderen (be)

As a student, Hugo Van Dienderen was the national president of KSA-VKSJ-KSJ for 5 years. After 12 years as a radio journalist for the VRT, he was elected as a member of the parliament for Agalev / Groen (1987-1999), where he submitted the bill that exempted ‘the bicycle allowance for commuting to work’ from taxes. The proposal was approved across the board and thousands of employees are currently enjoying this benefit. In 2003, he founded GroenPlus, the elder campaign for the green party, where he was chairman until 2018. Today he is retired and co-founder and co-chairman of Grandparents for Climate.
